The musical band Chmielnikers is a kind of unique in the region. Its uniqueness comes from the fact that Chmielnikers is the only band in Swiętokrzyski Region performing the Jewish folk music  with great technique and interpretation.

The members of the band are professional musicians with extensive artistic and entertaining experience. They performing not only as a soloists in concerts but also with other well known bands.

The Chmielnikers repertoire is derived from the Jewish folk music, reflecting Jewish customs and songs and ballads performed in Yiddish singing about love, important family and historical events, humorous songs and lullabies, as well as instrumental compositions, stylized and created under the influence of culturally distinct Balkan and Eastern Europe music.

 

The band relates directly to the seventeenth century traditional music bands using so called "sacred instruments" in Hebrew 'klej zemer'. Nowadays, the acordion has replaced the cymbals and the percussion has taken place of the drum, but the violin and clarinet remained the same important role in the band as four centuries ago.
